If you have either a Zune or an iPod, please help?

I have an mp3 player, but I want to upgrade to either a Zune or an iPod.

If you have either, which one do you have, what is your opinion on it? Most people that I know have iPods, and they say they love it, but I haven%26#39;t heard the opinion from a Zune owner yet.

And I know you have to use iTunes for iPods, and I%26#39;ve heard that there%26#39;s a software for Zunes. Is there any way that you can put songs on them from Windows Media Player? I have a lot of ripped CDs on there, and it%26#39;d be a waste of time to have to download them.

One final question, can you use regular batteries for them, or do you have to use special batteries?

I%26#39;m in the minority and have a Zune. I%26#39;ve never tried an iPod so can%26#39;t compare them, but I%26#39;m very happy with the Zune. Like you, I%26#39;ve ripped tons of CDs on to my computer over the years, and they went on to the Zune with no problems. There%26#39;s a Zune marketplace but I haven%26#39;t used it or needed to. Zune has its own interface, separate from Media Player but similar to it, and all of my Media Player playlists showed up in my Zune software on the first synchronization, and also went on to the Zune with no problems.

added: as for people "hacking" into Zune - I turned off the wireless transfer first thing because I don%26#39;t plan to use it. Ipod iPOd%26#39;s are overrated but i have one its a nano and its ok once you get to used to working it ipods are better.... my friend has a zune and she said it sucks because people could just send u something that could be a little gross or send u a song that u don%26#39;t care about... but with i pods u have ur music and people can%26#39;t hack into yours and u can%26#39;t hack into theirs!! iPod has the best software. It is worth the $. Microsoft products have caused me so much misery this year, I wouldn%26#39;t recommend anything from them any longer. i have an ipod, and have had nothing but problems w/ it. my friends have Zunes, and they love them. the screen is bigger for the videos, sound quality is better, etc. all around, i like the zunee. im going to get one. you can transfer the songs from windows media player to the zune software to. oh, another cool feature w/ the zunes is tha tyou cam share music w/ other zune owners. IPod is better. I have a video IPod. The IPod uses ITunes to put music on your IPod and it%26#39;s really easy to use. You can convert music from Windows Media Player to ITunes, that%26#39;s what I do because most the music I have I don%26#39;t have the CD anymore. An IPod also doesn%26#39;t need batteries you get a USB cable which you plug into your computer and it recharges the battery and updates your IPod automatically. Hope this helped you make your decision. Ipod - ITunes is just too good, and imports songs from all formats. Also, accessories totally favor Ipod. Believe me, you never stop to think how cool it is to have 10 high-end choices for chargers, speakers, cases etc vs just one or two subpar ones.
