is it broken or something its brand new though it turns on when i connect it to pc for chargin but when i take the usbcord out it turns off i need 2 know how to turn it on with connectin the cable please help

I would charge the batteries (or replace) first, read the owners manual and then call customer support. If all else fails, return it for a different model. I have been really happy with the two different models of Sandisk players that my family owns.
